Park Fun Day
Come and enjoy all of the Adventure Park activities including; Kayaks, Stand up Paddle Boards, Diving Boards, Hydro Slide, UFO, Gladiator pole, BLOB. Included in the fun
day is our dry activities such as beach volleyball, low rope course & rock climbing.
3D Team Challenge
This programme is the ultimate test of a group’s strategic decision making abilities, group awareness, communication skills and time management skills. The objective is to select and complete the particular challenges most suited to your team’s strengths. Every team member will be required to contribute their individual talents towards their team’s final score in this head to head team competition.
The River Hop
A true New Zealand adventure!! Walk, scramble & swim in one of NZ’s favorite river rafting rivers without (most of) the water. The water from the river is diverted through a canal from hydrodammed Lake McLaren, leaving the riverbed mostly dry, but with some deep long pools. Communication and teamwork is a crucial requirement for this activity. Our experienced guides will lead you on a safe, educational adventure through the Wairoa River.
The SUP Board Adventure
A great introduction to Lake McLaren! Have your class step onto the water with our range of SUPs for a fun filled trip on Lake McLaren, and if possible into the Mangapapa Canyon. The programme will be filled with paddle board lessons, games and of course water safety skills.
Sea kayak skills
An introduction to basic Sea Kayaking gear and techniques. Students will learn how to unload and load a trailer safely. After a detailed introductions to all kayaking and safety equipment, students will get fitted to their kayaks.
On the water students will learn and practice a range of paddle strokes and rescue techniques under the guidance of our instructors.
student Led kayak - Rotorua or tauranga
This programme gives your group a true kayaking journey experience on either the Wairoa River or Lake Rotoiti.
Stopping en route to enjoy lunch by the
river before engaging in team-building challenges that require interdependence, problem solving skills, decision making, leadership and co-operation.

Our outdoor education programmes provide teachers with the tools to assess the NCEA standards listed. We can provide recommendations for and assist with learning before and after the programme however Waimarino group staff take no responsibility for assessing the students.
